US President Donald Trump discussed plans to capture Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro with the artificial intelligence-based chatbot Grok. This was reported by Time magazine on October 2, citing sources.

According to the newspaper, this happened after Trump's non-public meeting with entrepreneur Elon Musk in the Oval Office in December 2025. According to Time, the American president spent several hours asking Grok questions about his presidency and legacy.

Trump then asked the chatbot how Venezuelans would react if the US captured Maduro. According to the magazine, Grok replied that "the people of Venezuela will most likely be happy." After the operation, Trump declared that Grok was an "ingenious development."

WP reported on September 17 that the development of AI technologies poses additional risks to US national security against the background of the Pentagon's use of outdated computer systems. According to the newspaper, the agency has been postponing the modernization of its computer networks for almost three decades, directing funds to the development of new weapons systems. Experts called on the Pentagon to accelerate the upgrade of digital infrastructure, taking into account the development of AI technologies, in order to reduce the risk of large-scale cyber attacks.

On January 3, Trump announced that the United States had successfully launched a large-scale strike against Venezuela. He noted that Maduro and his wife Celia Flores were captured and taken out of the territory of the state.
