The Central Election Commission has registered the deputies of the State Duma of the IX convocation

On September 29, the Central Election Commission registered deputies of the State Duma of the IX convocation. The certificates were presented to the parliamentarians by the chairman of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of all five parties that won seats in the State Duma. On the same day, a number of factions held their first organizational meetings.

The largest faction was United Russia, which received 350 parliamentary mandates. It will be headed by Dmitry Kobylkin. At the meeting, the party members also agreed on candidates for the positions of chairmen of Duma committees.

"We discussed all the candidates for the chairmen of the committees, and the faction also unanimously supported them. <...> The people's program, which we created in such labors and [which] we nevertheless approved, has everything to ensure that the further development of our country is only upward and forward," Kobylkin said.

The New People retained Alexei Nechaev as head of the faction. In the new convocation, the party won 19 seats on the federal list, six more than in the previous one. The party will head more committees. Candidates for these positions have been nominated today.

"In addition to the committees on tourism and on small and medium-sized enterprises, it is also the committee on ecology. We are confident that we will show the results of our deputies' work in these committees, and, of course, in those others who will decide today who goes to which committees," Nechaev said.

Pamfilova said on September 28 that ensuring the maximum safety of voting participants in extreme conditions had become an absolute and top priority of the last election campaign in the State Duma. The head of the Central Election Commission added that the Russian society has demonstrated a deep understanding of the importance and significance of the elections for strengthening the state. The final turnout was a record for the last three electoral cycles and amounted to 59.8%.
