- Joint after joint: before blogger Nekoglai was detained in Moldova, he was tried in another case
A few months ago, blogger Nekoglai, who was detained in Moldova on suspicion of creating a drug den, was convicted in another drug-related case. As "Izvestia" found out, a streamer expelled from Russia drove around Chisinau in his car without a license and in an altered state of consciousness. Why he didn't go to jail that time, what his phobias surfaced during the first investigation and what he faces under the new charges — in the "Izvestia" material.
Disenfranchised rider
Blogger Nikolai Lebedev, known by the pseudonym Nekoglai, whose detention in Moldova became known on September 21, was sentenced three months ago in another drug-related case. He came to the attention of Moldovan security forces back in the winter of 2025, when he was driving his car in Chisinau without a license in a state of drug intoxication, according to their materials, which were at the disposal of "Izvestia".
On the evening of February 26, 2025, at the intersection of Kalya Orheyului and Chukarilor streets in Chisinau, police noticed a car whose driver did not give way to pedestrians. The car was stopped — Lebedev turned out to be driving, who did not have any documents with him.
"During a further conversation with Lebedev, suspicions arose that he was under the influence of drugs, as his eyes were slightly reddened and cloudy, and a strong smell of marijuana emanated from the car. Thus, the latter was asked if he had used any prohibited substances, to which Lebedev Nikolai replied that he had used marijuana. The driver was suspended from driving, and the car was seized and transferred to a special parking lot. Nikolai Lebedev was in the specified car at the time of the stop in the front seat as the driver, and his wife as the passenger," the case file says.
Fear of syringes
The police took the blogger to the Republican Narcological Dispensary. During the medical examination, urine, hair and saliva samples were taken from him. But he refused to donate blood.
"Lebedev refused to take a biological blood sample, citing fear of a syringe," the case file says.
However, the remaining samples turned out to be enough. There was no alcohol in his body, but the blogger failed a drug test: doctors found cannabinoids with a concentration of 205 ng/ml in his urine.
In the summer of 2025, Lebedev was charged under the article on driving while intoxicated or drugged. According to the Moldovan Criminal Code, the blogger faced up to five years in prison, but even at the investigation stage, he entered into an agreement with the prosecutor's office to plead guilty, which affected the verdict.
A year later, on June 11, 2026, the Chisinau court found Lebedev guilty, but took into account that he had not been tried before, and also admitted guilt and repented.
"The examined evidence confirms beyond any doubt that Lebedev Nikolai committed the crime imputed to him," the court said in its materials.
As a result, he was fined 2,000 conventional units (approximately 100,000 Moldovan lei or 480 thousand rubles).
A cheat and a brawler
Nikolai Lebedev was born in Chisinau in 2000, and became widely known in 2021 after a video with an emotional reaction to Egor Creed's video. Later, Nekoglai began to conduct joint broadcasts with tiktoker Ivan Zolo.
The blogger's popularity was accompanied by numerous scandals. He was involved in a fatal accident in his Porsche Panamera in Moscow; he claimed that his apartment had been robbed. In 2022, he was deported from Russia after publishing a video with a parody of a Russian serviceman. Later, Nekoglai was accused of advertising drug shops, scam coins and other dubious projects. He also streamed online casino games, went on the air in a state that viewers considered inadequate, and publicly spoke out in support of Ukraine, including reports of his donations in favor of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
In addition, there were suspicions about possible cheating of viewers and chat activity around Nekoglai's record numbers on Twitch.
The blogger's personal life and activities have also repeatedly become a reason for discussion — from conflicts with Ivan Zolo's father to breaking off communication with streamer Amina Tenderlibae.
After his deportation from Russia, Lebedev's career began to decline — the number of views dropped, and inappropriate behavior and questionable advertising only increased.
On September 21, 2026, it became known about the detention of Nikolai Lebedev and his wife in Moldova. According to local media, the blogger is suspected of drug trafficking and running a brothel. The operation took place in the municipality of Staucheni in the suburbs of Chisinau. The investigation suggests that Lebedev may have distributed illegal substances to teenagers and invited underage TikTok subscribers to his home.
During the searches, law enforcement officers allegedly found two packages of narcotic substances. According to media reports, during the arrest, the blogger resisted and attacked police officers, and his wife tried to escape. As a result, both were detained for 72 hours.
If the suspicions are confirmed and the case reaches a guilty verdict, the couple could face up to 15 years in prison.
