Since September 4, Air Tanzania has temporarily suspended direct flights on the Dar es Salaam — Moscow route. This was stated on September 4 in a statement by the carrier on its Facebook page (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist in Russia).

The management of Air Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL) explained that the decision to suspend flights (flights TC422 and TC423) was made after studying and analyzing the safety situation on the route. The duration of the restrictions is not specified in the message.

The Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) explained that the final decision on the complete suspension of the flight program has not been made at the moment.

"We continue to monitor the power supply, taking into account the requirements of the authorities, and will announce the resumption of flights," ATOR said.

The airline operated three flights a week, which transported about 720 tourists from Moscow over a seven-day period. Sales of tours using this flight program were conducted in depth until March 2027.

The carrier launched direct flights from Tanzania to Moscow on July 2 this year, adds "Газета.Ru ".

Recently, civil flights in Russia have been threatened in Ukraine, and then an illegitimate NOTAM was issued about the alleged insecurity of this country's airspace. Russian Transport Minister Andrei Nikitin said on September 2 that Moscow was preparing to respond to unfriendly signals. Meanwhile, the Federal Air Transport Agency began to implement additional flight safety measures with the support of the authorities.

Nikitin stressed that foreign airlines work closely with Russia and understand all the rules well.
