The business program of the Moscow International Film Week has ended. On August 28, the construction of an amusement park in Moskino was announced there. The National Media Group plans to launch the first stage in 2027. Read more about this, as well as about the key topics and guests of the festival program, in the Izvestia article.

Moskino Amusement Park

From Moscow during the time of constructivism to the Middle East and Central Asia, from the Princely Palaces to the railway station, from the Reichstag to the fabulous city — these and other geographical points, as well as different eras, converged on the map of the Moskino film Park: 74 full-scale and interior decorations and eight filming pavilions, already favored by cinematographers. This year alone, 111 projects were shot here, and in total — more than 260 films and TV series.

In 2026, Merrymaker Wu, Smersh 5, and part of the scenes of the large-scale Russian-Chinese action film Black Silk were filmed in the Moskino scenery. Before that, an Italian town was built on the territory of the complex for Pinocchio, where there is a square with a town hall, fountains, a trattoria, a bakery, a pharmacy, merchants' shops, and for It's Hard to be a God, a medieval Arkanar and a space station.

You look at a new location, and work is in full swing there.

"Today we are rehearsing horse tricks for a historical project that will be filmed here," coordinator and stunt director Alexei Silkin tells Izvestia at one of the locations.

The complex also has stables with its own livestock. Rehearsals with animals are held immediately in the scenery, he explains, so that they get used to the place. At the command "Let's start!" a frisky horse cuts through the playground, dragging a stuntman along the ground.

— The location is universal. It is suitable not only for equestrian tricks. Here we had the opportunity to make high-altitude falls, shoot battle scenes, and work with fire and pyrotechnics. We can afford anything here," Silkin says, pointing to the buildings.

On August 27, Russian Cinema Day, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin opened new filming locations at the Moskino Film Park.

— On behalf of the President of Russia, we are developing the Russian cinema industry. Moscow is becoming a real filming center not only for Russian cinema, but also for international projects. One of these areas is the development of Moskino. This is, in fact, one of the largest in-situ sites in the world, with about 80 cities built in-situ, and film sets. This year we have completed the construction of the third stage. And the number of movie shootings has almost doubled compared to last year," Sergei Sobyanin said.

Tatiana Golikova, in turn, noted that this work is bearing fruit, as the number of viewers of Russian cinema is increasing.

Now Moskino has a new stage of development. It became known that the National Media Group will create an amusement park here. The plans were announced as part of the business program of the Moscow International Film Week.

"Moskino is no longer just a professional venue, but a platform where visitors can see the amazing scenery that is currently being built for a wide variety of projects in Moskino Park, and just ride on different attractions, and relax in the cinema cluster," said Svetlana Balanova, General Director of the National Media Group.

How was the Moscow International Film Week?

The production capacity of the domestic industry was appreciated by French and American actor Christopher Lambert, widely known for The Legend of Tarzan (1984) and the fantasy action film Highlander (1986).

— I've seen the photos, and it's impressive! — He said.

Lambert became one of the headliners of the business program of the Cinema Week and personally met with the participants. He recalled the key turns of his international career and answered questions about his plans.

— You know, in fact, I don't have enough patience to create some kind of film work on my own, but if I were shooting something, it would be a Western, - he shared his thoughts about what kind of film he would release in Russia as a producer.

Christopher Lambert called the Battleship Potemkin his favorite Russian painting in an interview with journalists. Sergei Eisenstein's work turned 100 years old in 2025.

Mithun Chakraborty— the star of "Disco Dancer", took over the baton. He talked about his first auditions, fame, and the decisions that turned him into one of India's most recognizable actors. American actor Dolph Lundgren talks about the path to the role of Ivan Drago in Rocky IV. Actress Daria Moroz and director Anton Maslov shared secrets on how aspiring actors and directors can get into the industry. In addition, industry experts discussed how a modern project promotion campaign is built and what tools allow you to attract the attention of viewers in an oversaturated information field.

— As my colleague in the workshop quite rightly pointed out, when building a film campaign, we must remember that today the audience does not have a choice between going to the cinema for this or that. She has plenty of opportunities and variations on how to diversify her leisure time, from going to a restaurant to a tourist trip. Therefore, it is necessary to carefully build relationships with potential viewers in order to attract them to the cinema," explains Olesya Proglyadova, PR Director of NMG Film Distribution.

In many ways, this work today provides support for film distribution and contributes to the development of the domestic industry, including the competitiveness of Russian films over foreign blockbusters, and the strengthening of their own brands.

— We have a successful case from the point of view of PR communication. Our work on "Black Silk" began last fall, when the premiere of "Red Silk" took place in China. Success on the international market became a bridge from the first film to the second. In addition, we have announced the actor who will play Sorge is Maxim Matveev. This has become one of the main information guides in terms of the project application. We have used various information channels to maintain interest in the story. It is important that the team and actors are always ready for communication and interesting special projects," Olesya Proglyadova shared her experience.

The premiere of the Russian-Chinese detective action film "Black Silk" will take place on March 31, 2027.

In addition to the business part, the program from August 24 to August 30 includes screenings. Pavel Lungin presented a restored version of the film "The Lilac Branch" with Evgeny Tsyganov in the role of Sergei Rachmaninoff 20 years after the premiere, and the film was released. Director Danil Chashchin has released a "Big Pharma" about the invention of a cure for all diseases and its severe side effects. Egor Beroev presented his debut directorial work at the Cinema Week — the drama series "Marik" about a military doctor from Mariupol. Rustam Ilyasov — comedy melodrama with Sasha Bortich "Everything is in your hands".
