The remake of the cult psychological thriller "Possessed" starring Margaret Qualley and Callum Turner will be released in theaters on June 11, 2027. The new version of Andrzej Zhulavsky's film will be directed by Parker Finn, director of the Smile films. This was reported by Variety magazine on August 12.

The plot of the original "Possessed" centers on intelligence officer Mark, who returns to his wife Anna in West Berlin after a long business trip. The woman asks for a divorce and begins to behave more and more inexplicably. The story of a family breakup is gradually turning into a psychological thriller with elements of supernatural horror.

The 1981 film was directed by Polish director Andrzej Zulawski. The main roles were played by Sam Neill and Isabelle Adjani. For her work in "Possessed," Ajani won the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actress.

In the new version, the couple will be played by Callum Turner and Margaret Qualley. Paul Dano, Diego Calva, Madeline Brewer, Emory Cohen and Nicholas Alexander Chavez also joined the cast. The creators have not yet revealed details about their characters. Parker Finn is the screenwriter, director and one of the producers of the remake. He gained fame after the release of the horror film "Smile" in 2022, which was subsequently continued.

Filming of the new "Possessed" began in July 2026 in New Jersey. Qualley was spotted on set while working on a scene in which her character ran down the street and screamed. The official footage, trailer and full synopsis of the film have not yet been presented.

For Qualley, the project will be another major work in the genre of physical and psychological horror after the film "Substance". Turner is known for the TV series "Lords of the Air" and the films of the "Fantastic Beasts" franchise, Dano played the Riddler in "Batman", and Calva played one of the main roles in the drama "Babylon".

On July 27, Medialogia presented the Russian Series rating for June and the first half of 2026. The series "Stranger Things" became the leader in the first six months — the project scored 19,601 points. The top 5 projects also included "Magic Battle" (10,839 points), "Lilies of the Valley" (10,486 points), "Boys" (10,024 points) and "First Division" (8,917 points). In addition, the series "Boys" became the leader by the end of June — the story scored 1971 points. The second place went to the Russian detective series "Sled" (1834 points), and the third place went to "Euphoria" (1328 points).
