In Turkey, tourists refused hotels due to rising vacation prices
The increase in the cost of holidays in Turkey affects the preferences of travelers: instead of hotels, they are increasingly choosing apartments and private houses. This was announced on August 1 by Deniz Kashyr, a representative of the tourism industry of this country.
"The increased costs of accommodation, transportation and recreation are forcing tourists to look for more economical options. The demand for holidays does not disappear, it only changes the format: more and more people prefer apartments and houses that allow them to reduce costs and feel at home," she said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
Accordingly, the expert commented to the agency on data obtained by the Turkish Institute of Statistics (TUIK), according to which in the second quarter of this year, the revenues of the state's tourism industry decreased by 2.6% compared to the same period in 2025, and the number of foreign tourists decreased by 5.1%.
