An impressive cloud of plasma appeared and separated from the Sun. This was announced on October 29 by the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy of the IKI RAS.

"The ejection of a very large prominence, about half a million km in size, came into the field of view of several space telescopes today," the message posted on the Telegram channel said.

According to scientists, the phenomenon will not affect the Earth or lead to noticeable disturbances in its magnetic field.

"In this case, the prominence is still flying rather sideways. <...> Of the nearby planets, it seems that only Mars will be in its path," the publication noted.

The prominence is a colossal plasma formation forming in the solar atmosphere. It is held above the surface of the star by a magnetic field. Externally, the structure resembles a dense, relatively cold cloud or arch.

On October 9, the website of the Institute of Applied Geophysics (FSBI "IPG") reported that a class M flare lasting 31 minutes was recorded on the Sun.

On October 8, the most powerful solar flare since the end of summer was recorded. It was noted that the flare occurred in the immediate vicinity of the center of the solar disk. This location gives the flare a chance to have an impact on Earth.
