A possible cause of the collision of two trains in the Spanish province of Toledo could be a human factor. Correspondent Luba El Hadi told Izvestia about this on October 29.

"The only thing that can be said about the reasons is probably the human factor. <...> The computer security system failed, and control on this section of the railway automatically transferred to the central control room at Atocha station," she said.

Now a special commission is investigating why one of the trains could not stop.

Two trains collided in Spain the day before, killing at least 68 people. The main reason for the incident, according to preliminary information from El Pais, could be human error due to a malfunction of the alarm system. It was clarified that an employee of the Adif company allowed the departure of the train of the Renfe railway company, despite the fact that the track was occupied by the train of the Iryo operator.

The Prime Minister of the kingdom, Pedro Sanchez, declared three days of mourning for the victims. Meanwhile, the Russian Embassy in Spain expressed its condolences in connection with the incident.
