Banks may suspect that a customer is acting under pressure from fraudsters if they withdraw cash within 24 hours after applying for a loan or loan. The Bank of Russia announced this on October 24.

"The bank may decide that the client is under the influence of intruders if it withdraws money within 24 hours after applying for a loan or increases the limit on cash disbursements, including by credit card," the report says, as cited by RIA Novosti.

Additional suspicions may be aroused by transferring over 200,000 rubles through the SBP to your own account with another bank or by early withdrawal of a deposit for a similar amount. At the same time, credit institutions take into account not one single feature, but a combination of other changes in customer behavior, the Bank of Russia clarified.

The signals include atypical actions when receiving cash, a noticeable change in phone activity at least six hours before the operation, a sharp increase in the number of messages from new numbers, a change in the phone to log into online banking, a change in the characteristics of the device and the detection of malicious software on it.

On October 22, the press service of the Moshelovka platform of the Popular Front reported that fraudsters began calling Russians under the guise of employees of the financial control service and telling them about the allegedly new ATM rules. The scammers claim that the client's bank card has not been verified, so when using someone else's ATM, it can allegedly be withdrawn and the operation blocked. Then the attackers suggest setting up a fictitious "interbank gateway" and demanding to name the code from the SMS.
