Iran says it has the "grandmother of all bombs"
If the United States supposedly has the "mother of all bombs," then Iran has the "grandmother of all bombs." This was announced on October 21 by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Islamic Republic, Ali Zeinivand.
"If they (the Americans. — Ed.) we have the mother of all bombs, we have the grandmother of all bombs, don't worry," the news portal quoted him as saying. Jsnews.ir on Instagram (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and banned).
Accordingly, Zeinivand commented on a CNN article about the alleged intention of the US military to use the most powerful non-atomic bomb in its arsenal, the "mother of all bombs," in the event of renewed strikes on Iran.
The Financial Times newspaper learned on the same day about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's call for Trump to resume strikes against Iran. It was clarified that he planned that his request would be implemented on October 10, but was faced with the unwillingness of the White House to escalate further ahead of the midterm elections.
Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed Moscow's willingness to help Washington resolve the Iranian crisis. Speaking with Trump's special envoy in St. Petersburg, he said that the American side was "well aware" of the proposals in question.
