Serial production of gasoline turbocharged units with a volume of 1.5 liters has started at the engine plant in the Alabuga SEZ. The new engine is designed to equip Sollers SF1 vans and minivans, the Sollers Group said in a statement received by Izvestia on October 21.

"The production of the turbo engine is integrated into the high-tech assembly lines of the enterprise. The project took six months to complete. In the future, it is planned to deepen the localization of the product, including the development of casting and machining of basic parts," the company noted.

The four-cylinder unit with distributed fuel injection conforms to the Euro-5 environmental class and is equipped with a timing chain drive. The engine power is 136 hp, the maximum torque is 175 Nm. The certified fuel is Ai—92 gasoline. The warranty for the unit is 2 years or 200 thousand kilometers, which is similar to the warranty conditions for the SF1 car.

The new turbo engine has complemented the range of 2.0 and 2.7 liter diesel units, which will be produced at the enterprise in 2023 with the support of the Industrial Development Fund (EDF).

As Maxim Kadakov, editor-in-chief of Behind the Wheel, clarified in his Telegram channel, the new turbo engine in the original has the JAC HFC4GB24D index. The unit has been manufactured in China since 2018 and, in addition to the Sollers SF1, is installed on Moskvich 3 crossovers. At the same time, the engine localized in the Russian Federation differs from the engine installed on the Moskvich 3 in nuances, in particular, the shape of the oil pan.

Earlier, Adil Shirinov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PJSC Sollers, said that in the future this 1.5-liter engine may appear on other models of the Sollers brand. In addition, he did not rule out the possibility of supplying this engine to other Russian automakers.

The day before, it was reported that the Sollers Group launched the production of a line of Sollers SF7 light commercial vehicles at an enterprise in Yelabuga. The first serial copies rolled off the assembly line of Sollers Alabuga. The production of the new model is organized using full-cycle technology with welding and painting of bodies, and additional processing of bodies with cataphoretic primer is also carried out.
