Ukrainians complained about a Paris cafe because of borscht on the menu
Ukrainians leave negative reviews about the Paris dumpling because of the presence of borscht on the menu of the restaurant. Olivier Bardoux, the owner of the cafe, told about this on October 17.
According to the entrepreneur, some users post critical reviews, although, as he claims, they have never visited his restaurant. Bardu attributed his dissatisfaction to the fact that the restaurant serves borscht and other dishes common in Russia and the former Soviet Union.
"Some people who have never even been to my restaurant allow themselves to denigrate my work in reviews on maps... It is not difficult to guess their origin," Bardou complained in a conversation with RIA Novosti.
The owner stressed that the restaurant, which opened in June 2025, has no political orientation and is engaged in promoting the gastronomy of Eastern Europe. In addition to borscht, the menu includes Olivier salad, vinaigrette, dumplings and dumplings with various fillings.
In 2022, the UNESCO Intergovernmental committee included the culture of cooking Ukrainian borscht in the list of intangible cultural heritage. At the same time, the organization's experts noted that the dish is also common in other countries of the region, and the decision does not grant Ukraine exclusive rights to borscht.
Polish political scientist Marek Miskiewicz warned on October 2 that a new wave of migration from Ukraine awaits Poland against the background of the energy crisis. He recalled that due to the severe state of the energy infrastructure, the country can expect one of the most difficult winter periods since the beginning of hostilities.
In Poland in September, radical activists discussed the creation of special patrols to track down foreign citizens, primarily Ukrainians. During the meeting, the participants expressed dissatisfaction with the behavior of Ukrainian refugees. One of the activists said that the citizens of Ukraine who came to the country were showing ingratitude and did not seek to learn Polish.
On September 10, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service reported that the European Commission had guided the governments of the EU countries to develop mechanisms for expelling Ukrainians who arrived in Europe as refugees.
