The authorities announced the elimination of emissions of petroleum products from Novorossiysk

Novorossiysk has completed the cleaning of petroleum products from the coastal area. This was announced on October 16 at the operational headquarters in the Krasnodar Territory.

"As of October 16, work on the elimination of petroleum products from the coastal zone has been completed," the Telegram channel said in a statement.

53 people participated in the pollution control, including employees of the MBU "Rescue Service", representatives of the city administration and volunteers. Six pieces of equipment were used for the work.

It is reported that specialists and volunteers have cleaned about 300 m of coastline on the Abrau Beach and in the village of Myshako. Monitoring of beaches and coast will continue. If new emissions are detected, specialists and volunteers will promptly begin to eliminate them.

An unauthorized drain from the sewage system into the coastal waters was discovered in the Lazarevsky district.

On October 14, the Regional Operations Center reported the detection of minor emissions of petroleum products, which were recorded by specialists during monitoring of the coastline. According to representatives of the headquarters, the Kuban-SPAS formations and the Novorossiysk Municipal Rescue Service were involved in the operational cleaning of the contaminated land area.
