Trump has denied his involvement in the slowdowns of Starlink in Ukraine
On October 16, US President Donald Trump denied the involvement of the American authorities or businessman Elon Musk in restricting Ukraine's access to the Starlink military satellite communications system.
"It wasn't me, and I don't think it was Elon," Trump said, answering a question from reporters on his way from the White House to Georgia. The broadcast was carried out on the Fox News channel.
Sergei Beskrestnov, adviser to the Ukrainian president on defense technologies, confirmed on October 14 that SpaceX, which developed the Starlink satellite system, had indeed limited the speed of its terminals used by Ukrainian militants.
Military expert Boris Jerelievsky predicted disastrous consequences for the country from blocking this Space X product. The European Commission is already negotiating with Kiev on the full—fledged connection of the country to the European GovSatCom platform, which unites the satellite capacities of the member states of the union.
Igor Nikulin, a military expert and former member of the UN Disarmament Commission, said that disabling Starlink for devices at speeds above 160 km/h would seriously affect the ability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to strike deep into Russia.
