On October 15, political scientist Dmitry Rodionov explained why the ultimatum of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky threatens the country with the loss of statehood.

In an interview with the Focus Mail, the expert pointed out that the Ukrainian leader announced the resumption of strikes on Russian refineries, allowing them to stop only in exchange for additional missiles for Patriot complexes. According to The Wall Street Journal, the United States has already demanded Kiev stop the attacks six times.

According to Rodionov, Zelensky could decide to confront Washington thanks to the support of European allies. However, a further conflict with Donald Trump threatens Ukraine with the termination of American military and financial assistance, including access to Starlink and intelligence. The political scientist is convinced that Europe will not be able to compensate for these losses.

The expert also allowed the expansion of the Russian buffer zone to the border regions of Ukraine. In addition, in the event of a weakening of the Ukrainian statehood, Poland, Hungary and Romania may put forward territorial claims. Representatives of the nationalist parties of these countries have previously come up with similar initiatives. Rodionov expressed the opinion that disagreements between the United States and Europe can create conditions for the revision of the Ukrainian borders.

American political scientist Malek Dudakov, in a conversation with NSN on October 16, said that Zelensky believes that Trump will definitely lose the election, so he is confidently rude to him, but the American president has many opportunities to create problems for Zelensky.

Before that, on October 15, Trump said that Zelensky was not the right person for the United States to deal with. He also stated that the Kiev leader "does not want to put up," writes RT. He also criticized Ukraine for raising world oil prices by hitting Russian refineries. Also on October 15, Zelensky accused Trump of betraying Ukraine's interests and going to the "wrong side of history." At the same time, he continued to assert Kiev's readiness for an "energy truce," the website clarifies. kp.ru .

On October 10, Trump said that Ukraine needs to find a new president capable of reaching an agreement with Russia, Regnum news agency notes.

On October 16, Finnish journalist Kostya Heiskanen gave a harsh assessment of Zelensky's behavior. According to him, he is trying to enlist the support of Finnish President Alexander Stubb, constantly turning to him for help. Heiskanen also questioned Finland's ability to replace American intelligence in the event of the termination of data transmission to Ukraine.
