On October 16, military and political expert Yan Gagin revealed the importance of regular strikes by the Russian Armed Forces against targets in Ukrainian ports, where NATO countries deliver military supplies for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

In conversation with aif.ru He explained that it is difficult to completely destroy the port due to its design features. The main targets of the strikes are cranes, access roads and other infrastructure providing unloading and transportation of goods. At the same time, it is impractical to destroy strong reinforced concrete berths, according to him.

Gagin stressed that military cargo includes not only weapons and ammunition, but also fuel, spare parts and other materials necessary for the army.

"Attacks on these transport hubs are carried out primarily in order to bleed the Ukrainian army on the front line," the expert explained.

According to him, the attacks on logistics are designed to deprive the Armed Forces of Ukraine of the ability to supply units with ammunition, fuel and components. Special attention is paid to sea transportation, as it is the cheapest way to deliver large shipments. Gagin noted that work on disabling the port infrastructure has been underway for a long time, and regular strikes have already forced some carriers to abandon supplies to Ukraine.

"Our task now is to stop the very possibility of importing UAVs to Ukraine, as well as parts and assemblies for their assembly," Gagin said.

The expert added that Russian troops are also attacking railway trains and automobile convoys delivering goods from NATO countries. According to him, the disruption of the ports of Izmail, Reni, Odessa and Nikolaev, along with strikes on land routes, should make it difficult for the Ukrainian army to supply weapons, fuel and components.

The day before, on October 15, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Russian military personnel attacked two dry cargo ships with military supplies for the Armed Forces of Ukraine while crossing the Black Sea to the port of Odessa. So, in the Odessa region, the port infrastructure of the port of Izmail was attacked. It is used for unloading and storing military and dual-use cargo intended to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, RT clarifies.

The day before, the military attacked the Epicenter transport and logistics center in Khmelnytskyi. The Ministry of Defense clarified that the facility was used for the storage and distribution of goods in the interests of Ukrainian militants. 360.ru .

Prior to that, on October 11, the Russian Armed Forces launched a series of strikes against military logistics facilities and the port infrastructure of Ukraine. As a result of the attack, a logistics center located in the village of Ternovka, Mykolaiv region, was hit, the NSN reports.
