Long-range Tu-22M3 bombers of the Russian Aerospace Forces performed a planned flight over the neutral waters of the Baltic Sea, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on October 16.

"The Tu-22m3 bombers of the Russian Aerospace Forces performed a planned flight in the airspace over the neutral waters of the Baltic Sea," the report said.

Fighter escort of the bombers was provided by the crews of Su-35S and Su-30SM aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces. At some stages of the route, Russian planes were escorted by fighters from foreign countries.

Long-range aviation crews regularly fly over the neutral waters of the Arctic, North Atlantic, Pacific Ocean, Baltic and Black Seas. The Russian Defense Ministry noted that all flights of the VKS aircraft are carried out in strict accordance with international rules for the use of airspace.

On October 13, the press service of the Baltic Fleet announced the training flights of crews of Ka-27 anti-submarine helicopters in the Baltic Sea. More than five crews participated in the exercises, practicing takeoffs and landings on the deck of the Stoyky corvette. The military pilots performed about 10 landings while the ship was moving and drifting.
