The expert explained the importance of refueling cars at one gas station

Refueling a car at one verified gas station helps you track fuel consumption and engine changes. Nikita Arkhipov, head of the Rolf Group of companies' service area, told about this, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reported on October 16.

According to the expert, if a driver regularly uses fuel from one gas station, it is easier for him to notice deviations in the behavior of the car. In particular, detonation sounds, unstable engine idling, or a sudden increase in fuel consumption. A stable fuel choice is especially important for vehicles with accelerated turbo engines and direct injection, he noted. Additional attention to the quality of gasoline is also required in cases where the engine has been modified or its software has been changed.

The expert stressed that it is not necessary to specifically drive through the whole city for the sake of one gas station. A serviceable production car should run normally on fuel with the required characteristics, purchased at various bona fide gas stations. Even within the same network, gasoline can come from different tank farms and production sites.

The specialist recommended choosing proven stations with high fuel turnover, complying with the car manufacturer's requirements for the brand of gasoline, and saving receipts. Mixing compatible motor gasoline of the same purpose is not a problem, but risks arise if the fuel does not meet the stated characteristics or contains water and mechanical impurities.

If, after refueling, the engine started to run erratically, the car lost traction, started starting worse, there were extraneous sounds or the Check Engine indicator lit up, the specialist advised not to try to use up all the gasoline, but to seek diagnosis. If necessary, you can take a sample of the fuel, and laboratory testing will help to confirm its compliance with the regulations.
