Hunters shot a bear entering a trans-Baikal city
In Transbaikalia, a bear was eliminated, which more than once entered household plots and approached residential buildings in the city of Khilok. For three days, hunters monitored the movements of the predator.
According to ChitaMedia news agency, with reference to the press service of the regional Ministry of Natural Resources, in order to quickly respond in case of danger, a mobile group consisting of a hunter and experienced hunters patrolled the territory.
The bear was shot as part of measures to regulate the number of hunting resources. Now the residents of the city are out of danger.
Earlier, Dmitry Strelnikov, the public environmental protection inspector of the South Ural Interregional Department of Rosprirodnadzor, warned that rodent bears could appear this winter in the Altai and Krasnoyarsk Territories, the Altai Republic and the Irkutsk Region. There has been an increase in the number of bears in these regions and there have been cases of wild animals coming out to people.
Zoologist, hunting expert Mikhail Kretschmar told how to behave when meeting a bear. He recommended not shouting, but calmly moving away from the animal or trying to scare it away with a calm voice, loud music, or a jacket held over your head.
