Sobyanin announced an increase in the minimum pension in Moscow in 2027

In 2027, the minimum pension for non-working pensioners in Moscow, taking into account the city surcharge, will increase to 28,580 rubles per month. This was announced by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.

"Starting from January 1, 2027, the amounts of benefits and payments to families with children, older citizens, and people with disabilities will be indexed by 4.3%," the mayor wrote in the Maks messenger.

According to the mayor, social spending will account for half of Moscow's budget for 2027-2029. In particular, it is planned to allocate 2.4 trillion rubles for social support of residents over three years. In 2027, 815.1 billion rubles were allocated for these purposes, of which 409 billion rubles will be used for cash payments.

It is planned to allocate about 208 billion rubles to ensure free and preferential travel for certain categories of Muscovites. Another 41.7 billion rubles in 2027 will be allocated for housing and communal services benefits, and 21.9 billion rubles for subsidies to low-income families.

33.1 billion rubles were allocated for the development of the material and technical base of social protection institutions in 2027-2029. Gerontology centers and social homes will continue to be updated in the capital, Sobyanin said.

The mayor stressed that the main priority of the city authorities remains the fulfillment of social obligations to Muscovites, as well as "the provision of high-quality and timely services in social protection institutions."

On October 15, Sobyanin announced that the draft budget of the capital for 2027-2029 had been submitted to the Moscow City Duma. He noted that the document is based on strategic plans for the development of the economy, infrastructure and social sphere until 2040. Among the main priorities of the budget policy are social protection of Muscovites, support for participants in a special military operation and their family members, as well as improving the quality and accessibility of services to the population.
