Sollers showed a new Russian SUV against the background of the UAZ Patriot
Russian automaker Sollers has published a photo of the new domestic Ulyanovsk-made Sollers S9 SUV, which has not yet gone on sale, against the background of the familiar UAZ Patriot. The footage was shared on October 16 by the automobile plant's corporate Telegram channel.
The photo was taken as part of a visit to the industrial site in Ulyanovsk by representatives of the branches of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of the Volga Federal District. The picture allows you to visually assess the dimensions of the two flagship SUVs from Sollers.
Production of the Sollers S9 started in September at the Ulyanovsk plant. The model is based on the Sollers ST9 pickup truck, which in turn is a licensed version of the Chinese JAC T9. The first cars will be shipped to dealers in December.
The car will be offered in versions with petrol and diesel engines combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission. As for localization, it is stated that the body, power units, safety system components, electronics, exterior and interior elements for the new SUV will be produced in Russia.
As reported on October 6, the main market competitors of the new Russian SUV Sollers S9, which will go on sale before the end of this year, will be eight models.
