- A school for young talents from all over the Far East will be opened in Khabarovsk
Khabarovsk will create a school for talented children from all over the Far East. It will appear in the region on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The creation of a flagship school and the construction of educational facilities in the Khabarovsk Territory were discussed at a meeting between Governor Dmitry Demeshin and Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko in Moscow.
According to IA AmurMedia, such educational institutions should open in all federal districts by 2030. According to Demeshin, the Khabarovsk Territory will have a unique opportunity to become the educational center of the entire Far East.
The advanced school will train a talent pool for knowledge-intensive and high-tech sectors of the economy. Students from grades 7 to 11 will study there. A campus will be built for nonresident children, and a dormitory for teachers. A variant of the facility's concept has already been developed, and construction will begin in 2028.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the Khabarovsk Territory has become a real educational outpost of the Far East. The region is actively implementing the Youth and Children national project, which focuses on infrastructure development and creating conditions for realizing the potential of youth. Within its framework, kindergartens, additional education centers are being created and repaired, universities are being supported, and the Zemsky Uchitel program is being implemented.
In addition, Khabarovsk Krai has taken the initiative to create a Russian school in China. There are no such schools in the northeastern provinces of China, which border the region, despite the demand among Russians permanently residing in China. The establishment of an international checkpoint on Bolshoy Ussuriysky Island will open up new opportunities for this project.
Earlier, on September 16, the governor of the Khabarovsk Territory asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to speed up the approval of the Amur shipping development program along with the fleet renewal program. Demeshin noted that shipbuilding remains one of the priorities for the Khabarovsk Territory and is directly related to the economic development of the Amur Basin. According to him, the expansion of trade relations to the East and the prospect of restoring cargo and tourist traffic from China open up additional opportunities.
