US President Donald Trump called the attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on Russian oil refineries an outrage. He stated this on October 16 in an interview with Newsmax TV channel.

"If you tell me that [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Zelensky is hitting oil refineries again, all he's trying to achieve is an increase in world oil prices. Well, I think it's an outrage," Trump stressed.

The American leader also stressed that it makes no sense for Ukraine to hit the oil refinery.

During the same interview, Trump stated that Zelensky was not seeking to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. According to the American leader, Ukraine needs elections because Zelensky has destroyed the country, and his support among the Ukrainian population is controversial.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with representatives of Delovaya Rossiya on October 15 that the Russian Army would respond to attacks on refineries, logistics and energy facilities.
