Constant fatigue, sleep problems, and a decrease in habitual working capacity may not just be the result of a busy schedule. Sometimes this is how the body signals that it needs help. Alexey Mamatov, a doctor of restorative medicine, neurologist and founder of the Academy of Systemic Health, told Izvestia on October 12 about five signs worth paying attention to.

"The body does not always immediately respond to overload with pronounced symptoms. At first, a person may notice that it is more difficult for him to wake up, concentrate, endure the usual physical activity or recover after a day at work. It is important to pay attention to the combination of such signs and look at health systematically, rather than waiting for the condition to deteriorate significantly," said Mamatov.

The first sign is fatigue, which does not go away after sleep. If a person sleeps the usual number of hours, but regularly wakes up exhausted, the reason may be not only due to high workload. The quality of recovery is affected by sleep patterns, stress, physical activity, nutrition, and various diseases.

The second is that the usual load has become harder to bear. If earlier walking, climbing stairs or regular exercise did not cause problems, but now they are accompanied by pronounced weakness or require significantly more recovery time, this is a reason to pay attention to the state of the body.

The third sign is a deterioration in concentration and working capacity. Absent-mindedness, a feeling of lethargy and difficulty in performing familiar tasks can occur against a background of lack of sleep, emotional stress and overwork.

The fourth is sleep disturbance. Difficulty falling asleep, frequent awakenings, or getting up too early can be associated with stress and a violation of the regime, but sometimes other conditions accompany it.

The fifth is a feeling of constant internal tension. A person can continue to work and perform their usual duties, but at the same time feel almost no relaxation, even on weekends. Constant stress can affect sleep, appetite, mood, and quality of life.

"Recovery is not just one day off after several weeks of working at the limit. The body needs regular periods of sleep, rest, and appropriate physical activity. If fatigue persists for a long time, worsens or is accompanied by other symptoms, you should not automatically explain everything by overwork — it is important to exclude medical causes," the doctor concluded.

Irina Krashkina, a psychotherapist at JSC "Medicine" (Academician Roitberg clinic), Candidate of Medical Sciences, noted on October 10 that short breaks from work and temporary withdrawal from active activities have a positive effect on well-being. According to her, the brain does not need to work at maximum speed all day: when switching to a more relaxed mode, the psyche processes the accumulated information, restores attention and reduces tension, and sometimes it is during relaxation that it is possible to find a solution to a difficult task.
