A BPIF with an AI-based multi-agent system has been launched in the Russian Federation

Pervaya Management Company has launched Russia's first exchange-traded mutual investment fund (BPIF), which uses an AI-based multi-agent system of four specialized agents to select shares. This was announced by Andrey Bershadsky, CEO of the First Management Company, at the Sbera investment forum "The Present Future".

"This is Russia's first exchange-traded fund for active management, which uses a multi-agent AI capable of independently selecting stocks for investment. The foundation's work is based on an analysis of the decision-making mechanism of a professional portfolio manager. The experts of the Criminal Code analyzed this experience, decomposing it into its main components. As a result, the architecture of the solution used in the AI foundation was formed, which is a multi-agent expert system. The system consists of four specialized AI agents," he said.

As Bershadsky explained, the three AI agents independently analyze different types of data. A competitive analysis agent examines competitors' portfolios in order to adopt the ideas of successful funds and avoid the mistakes of less successful ones. The fundamental analysis agent evaluates the financial performance of issuers, including historical and forecast data. The news analysis agent monitors the information background, classifies events and evaluates their possible impact on the value of assets.

"The agent supervisor (coordinator) aggregates the opinions of three AI agents, resolves contradictions and forms the final portfolio of the exchange-traded fund. At the same time, the recommendations of the AI are not subject to execution before verification by the manager and are implemented only in compliance with all regulatory standards," Bershadsky explained.

As reported at the conference, the fund's funds are invested in shares of Russian companies. The income earned is reinvested as it becomes available, which can increase the value of the fund's assets.
