The deputy explained the absence of football players in the State Duma

Football players and modern hockey players have many opportunities to realize themselves for a higher salary than they would receive in the State Duma. This was announced on October 3 by State Duma deputy, Olympic champion Svetlana Zhurova.

"When people ask why there are no football players in the Duma, although note that hockey players of the modern format, whose salaries were already quite high, they don't really need it anymore. They have many opportunities where they can realize themselves for a bigger salary than in the State Duma," she said in an interview with Match TV.

In addition, according to Zhurova, parliamentary life is associated with a number of restrictions both for the parliamentarians themselves and for their families. At the same time, football and hockey players, according to the deputy, have already become accustomed to a certain lifestyle with vacation trips and property ownership abroad.

The deputies' attention immediately focused on approving the three-year budget, supporting families, and developing the Far East.

Meanwhile, in the ninth convocation of the State Duma, for the first time, another part of Russian society was represented — veterans of a special military operation. A total of 46 participants or veterans of the Central Military District were elected to the lower house of the Federal Assembly. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov assessed this number as a good indicator.
