The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine (HACC) rejected the petition of the defense of Irina Mudra, the former deputy head of the office of President Vladimir Zelensky, to be released from a pre-trial detention center on reduced bail. About this on September 28 reported by the Ukrainian edition of "Novosti.Live».

"The prosecutor opposed changing the preventive measure: in his opinion, there are risks of concealment, influence on witnesses and destruction of evidence. The court refused the defense — to leave custody, it is necessary to pay all 20 million hryvnias," the Telegram channel of the publication reported.

The defense asked to change the measure of restraint to a bail of about 13 million hryvnias, which has already been deposited into the court's escrow account. The lawyers explained the impossibility of transferring the remaining amount by strict limits on the part of Ukrainian financial organizations: in particular, Monobank and PrivatBank blocked the transactions of the lawyer's assistant, common-law husband and godfather for security reasons. The defendant herself stated that she had deposited all the personal funds available to her, and the rest of her property was currently under arrest.

The prosecutor categorically opposed changing the preventive measure, pointing out the continuing risks of the defendant's escape, destroying evidence or exerting pressure on key witnesses. Earlier, Irina Mudroy's lawyer Artyom Krikun-Trush stated that more than 20 banks They refuse to make targeted payments to court accounts, and the National Bank of Ukraine has not yet responded to the problem.

On August 19, NABU launched a special operation "Forrest Gump" to investigate corruption in the office of the President of Ukraine. Irina Mudraya, the deputy head of the office, became the main person involved in the case. According to NABU, she tried to take control of the state-owned Sense bank in order to raise funds to pay the bail of another high-profile corruption scandal. On August 25, the court took Wise into custody for 60 days in a corruption case.

Daria Kalenyuk, executive director of the Anti-Corruption Center, said on August 25 that Zelensky appoints candidates based on loyalty, ignoring the legitimacy of candidates. She added that the Ukrainian leader is also engaged in concealment and ignores large-scale cases of corruption in his environment.
