The State Traffic Inspectorate announced continuous checks of drivers over the weekend
This Friday and next weekend, September 11-13, the State Traffic Inspectorate will conduct massive and continuous checks of drivers, special attention will be paid to the search for drunk motorists. The upcoming raids were announced by the regional departments of the department.
Traffic police units will work in an enhanced mode in the Samara, Kirov, Ivanovo, Rostov, Ryazan regions, Krasnoyarsk Territory and other regions of the country.
The State Traffic Inspectorate urges citizens to report to the police about drivers who drive vehicles under the influence or try to get behind the wheel drunk. According to such reports, the traffic police will immediately take all necessary response measures, the department said.
"Driving under the influence of alcohol is a gross violation of traffic regulations, which leads to the most serious consequences. Refuse to drive after drinking alcohol — do not risk your life, the lives of your passengers and other road users," Police Colonel Sergey Hrantskevich, head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of child traffic injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, addressed the drivers.
He recalled that according to current legislation, driving under the influence of alcohol, as well as refusing a medical examination, provides for the deprivation of a driver's license for a period of one and a half to two years and a fine of 45 thousand rubles. In addition, if the violation is repeated, the driver faces criminal liability.
On September 2, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree according to which drivers will be able to present a QR code generated in the Maks messenger to employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate instead of a paper registration certificate (CTC) and a driver's license. To present a digital driver's license via messenger, you will need to create a digital ID in the application, open the appropriate section, select the "auto" tab, click on the "driver's license" (or CTC) and show the QR code.
