Katyrin called the acceptable business level a key 10-12%

The compromise level of the key business rate can be considered 10-12%. This was stated on September 2 by Sergey Katyrin, President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), in an interview with Izvestia at the Eastern Economic Forum.

The regulator raised the inflation forecast and worsened the assessment of economic growth in 2026.

"The compromise level of the business rate is 10-12%, and it is realistic to achieve it by the end of the year," the speaker noted.

According to the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, reducing the key rate will not lead to an instant recovery in the economy, however, at such a rate, new investments may begin. Today, business investment activity remains almost invisible, the President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry emphasized.

At the same time, the high cost of loans remains one of the main difficulties for the development of companies. Businesses need funds not only to maintain current operations, but also to upgrade production facilities and make long-term investments, said Sergey Katyrin.
