The Ministry of Transport announced plans to launch new flights to the Maldives
The Russian authorities are considering the possibility of expanding flights to the Maldives and launching additional flights of airlines from the Russian Federation. This was announced on August 18 by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Transport following a meeting between Deputy Minister of Transport Dmitry Zverev and Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation of the Maldives Mohamed Amin.
"The parties discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of air transport, noting the steady growth of passenger traffic," the ministry said in a statement on its website.
One of the main topics of the negotiations was the expansion of flight programs of Russian carriers. Currently, regular flights on the Moscow — Male route are operated by Aeroflot. At the same time, other Russian airlines are also interested in operating flights to the Maldives.
The Ministry of Transport noted that the increase in the number of carriers and the expansion of the route network will meet the growing demand for travel between Russia and the Maldives.
The first plane from Egypt's El Alamein landed in Moscow on August 15. The Ministry of Transport and the Federal Air Transport Agency continue to develop air transportation jointly with the Egyptian side. Currently, you can fly from Russia to Cairo, Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh. A destination to Borg el Arab is also open for Russian tourists.
